Lees Construction & Development is a third-generation, family-owned company with deep roots in Montana dating back to 1905, when the Lees family immigrated from Tarbolton County, Scotland. Built on a foundation of skilled tradesmanship and hard work, our story reflects more than a century of dedication to quality craftsmanship and community.

Our legacy in construction began with John Lees, a World War II airplane mechanic who settled in Laurel, Montana, around 1955. Applying his technical expertise and strong work ethic, he founded a residential HVAC company that quickly earned a reputation for reliability and quality. In the 1980s, John and his son, Alan Lees, expanded into real estate investment, laying the groundwork for future development opportunities and broadening the family’s impact in the industry.

In 1996, Alan partnered with Tracy Haag to establish a general contracting and development firm, further strengthening the company’s presence across the region. The next generation stepped into leadership in 2011, when Preston Lees joined as a partner. Today, Preston serves as President of Lees Construction & Development, continuing the family’s tradition of integrity, innovation, and disciplined growth.

Now a fully licensed general contractor, Lees Construction & Development actively serves clients throughout Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Utah. We bring decades of experience, regional knowledge, and a hands-on approach to every project we undertake.
